The agenda of bilateral relations and common actions to combat the pandemic COVID 19 were discussed today by the Foreign Minister with his Swiss counterpart

April 23, 2020, Chisinau - The medium and long-term consequences of the epidemiological crisis and the ways to intensify bilateral relations were discussed today during the telephone conversation of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Oleg Țulea with his Swiss counterpart, Ignazio Cassis.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Swiss Confederation congratulated Minister Oleg Țulea on his appointment, reiterating the readiness of the Swiss side to continue the dynamic development of Moldovan-Swiss bilateral relations in the political-diplomatic, commercial-economic and cultural fields.

Referring to the current situation in both countries caused by the pandemic COVID 19, officials stressed the importance of international cooperation in crisis management, including on measures to reduce the negative consequences for the economy.

Minister Oleg Țulea thanked the Government of Switzerland for the valuable and prompt assistance provided in order to ensure medical institutions in the Republic of Moldova with medical protective equipment, to support regional health centers and local authorities. At the same time, Oleg Țulea gave a high appreciation to the activity of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Chisinau.

In the context of marking the 20th anniversary from the initiation of the development of Swiss cooperation in the Republic of Moldova, Minister Ignazio Cassis stressed that our country will continue to benefit from the support of the Swiss Government in key sectors for development, and the implemented projects will ensure the well-being of citizens.
