September 13, 2021, Chișinău - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Nicu Popescu welcomed Ambassador Thomas Mayr-Harting, Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, on a working visit in the Republic of Moldova, between September 12 and 14, 2021.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on current developments in the conflict resolution process in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, as well as the existing perspectives in advancing this process.

The two officials noted the importance of consolidating the progress made in the regulatory process, the need to intensify cooperation and efforts to respect fundamental human rights and freedoms in the Transnistrian region of the country, and to address related issues affecting residents on both banks of the Dniester. 

The head of Moldovan diplomacy reiterated the readiness and openness of the Chișinău authorities to maintain a dynamic and constructive dialogue. "The Republic of Moldova continues to rely on the support of the OSCE and other external partners involved in identifying a viable solution to a peaceful and comprehensive settlement of the conflict in the east of the country," said Minister Nicu Popescu.
