23 April 2021, Chișinău - Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Aureliu Ciocoi received Oleg Vasnetsov, Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Moldova. During the meeting, the Russian official informed about new details on the delivery of 142 thousand doses of Sputnik-V vaccine to the Republic of Moldova free of charge. The donation is to be brought to Chișinău by a special Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations transport.
Aureliu Ciocoi expressed his appreciation to the Russian authorities for providing transport for the vaccine batch and pointed out that Sputnik-V is to be used for the further implementation of the national immunization plan against covid-19.
The discussion also included an exchange of views on current issues on the agenda of Moldovan-Russian relations, reconfirming the readiness of both sides to further develop cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
In this context, the diplomats discussed some actions planned for this year, including the regular meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, as well as new rounds of consultations between the two foreign ministries.
