September 29, 2021, Chișinău – State Secretary Vladimir Cuc had a meeting with regional representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Central Europe, Roland Sebastian Schilling.

Officials discussed cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the High Commission of the United Nations for Refugees (UNHCR). State secretary Vladimir Cuc confirmed the availability of national authorities to promote implementation of commitments made in the Refugees Global Forum held in 2019, especially to assure basic necessities of asylum applicants established on the territory of the Republic of Moldova (access to medical insurance and others).  

Furthermore, the State Secretary thanked for aid and expertise provided by UNHCR through the projects implemented in cooperation with national authorities and civil society.  

In the framework of the meeting, were approached and other topics such as national and international events agenda, current tendencies concerning the situation of the refugees, cooperation with the Republic of Moldova and European Union in the migration field.
