23 April 2020, Chișinău - Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Oleg Țulea exchanged views with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Elmar Mammadyarov, on measures taken by the authorities of both countries to protect public health and reduce the negative consequences of the pandemic on national economies. During today's telephone conversation, officials stressed the importance of mutual support, including in the repatriation process of Moldovan and Azerbaijani citizens.
The officials also discussed the current state of relations and prospects for the continuous development of bilateral relations, mentioning the openness for cooperation in areas of mutual interest. In this context, the foreign ministers confirmed the interest for the organisation of the next meeting of the Moldo-Azerbaijani Intergovernmental Commission for trade and economic cooperation, but also for the development of cooperation within international organisations.
Noting the importance of an effective interaction between the Foreign Ministries of Chișinău and Baku, Minister Țulea reiterated the invitation for his Azerbaijani counterpart to pay a visit to the Republic of Moldova, immediately after overcoming the pandemic crisis.
