June 27, 2020, Chișinău - MFAEI, through the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine, informs the citizens of the Republic of Moldova of the following amendments approved by the Ukrainian authorities regarding quarantine measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 coronavirus when crossing the Ukrainian state border.

Thus, currently, the crossing of the state border of Ukraine by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova can be carried out respecting the following conditions:

  • The entry and stay on the territory of Ukraine will be allowed to citizens of the Republic of Moldova only in case of insurance policy presentation, which will serve as a guarantee for payment of expenses related to the treatment of coronavirus COVID-19, with mandatory placement in certain places (relatives, friends, rented spaces ) or observation spaces (quarantine) for a period of 14 days, with the installation of the application "Action at home" on the personal mobile phone. At the same time, the period of self-isolation (observation) of foreigners, arriving in Ukraine from a state or who are citizens of the state with a significant spread of COVID-19, is halted in case of presentation of the negative result of COVID-19 testing by PCR method, carried out after crossing the state border of Ukraine;
  • Transit of the territory of Ukraine in both directions by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, without placing in self-isolation (observation) for a period of 14 days, can be done on the basis of presenting evidence that the transit will take place over two days (for example presentation of the bus ticket) and the insurance policy for the payment of costs related to the treatment of COVID-19 coronavirus;
  • The drivers of regular international passenger coaches were also included in the list of persons who do have the obligation to be placed in observation (quarantine) or self-isolation spaces for a period of 14 days.

At the same time, it is noted that the insurance policy for covering the costs associated with COVID-19 treatment or observation is to be issued by an insurance company registered in Ukraine or by a foreign insurance company, which is represented in Ukraine or has a partner (insurance company) in Ukraine. The validity of the insurance policy is to cover the period of stay in Ukraine.

Moreover, attention is drawn to the fact that following the natural disasters of recent days in the western regions of Ukraine (Ivano-Frankovsk, Chernivtsi, Lvov and Ternopol,) were destroyed over 150 km of roads and dozens of bridges. In this context, it is recommended to avoid and / or circumvent these territories.

Based on the above, the Embassy asks the citizens of the Republic of Moldova to strictly observe the conditions of entry and transit of Ukraine in order to avoid unpleasant situations during the trip. In case of problematic situations, you can contact the consular service of the Embassy, at the phone number +380-44-521-22-79 or e-mail: kiev@mfa.gov.md.
