January 9, 2025, Chișinău – The Chargé d'Affaires of the Russian Federation Embassy in the Republic of Moldova, Alexandr Andreev, was summoned today to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the recent disinformation spread by the Russian Federation Embassy regarding the energy crisis in the Transnistrian region.

During the meeting, the representative of the Russian Embassy was informed of the clear and firm position of the Republic of Moldova regarding the unacceptable nature of the false statements, which aim to undermine the political and economic stability of our country. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the responsibility for the energy crisis in the Transnistrian region lies exclusively with the Russian Federation and Gazprom, which decided to halt gas deliveries contrary to contractual obligations.

At the same time, the Ministry strongly and repeatedly urged the Embassy to immediately cease the disinformation campaign, manipulation of facts, and creation of false narratives, which further harm bilateral relations and escalate the regional situation.
