March 3, 2025, Chișinău – The Republic of Moldova and the United Kingdom are making progress in the process of mutual recognition of driver’s licenses, an essential goal for the Moldovan community living in the UK. A concrete step in this direction is the launch by the British authorities of a public consultation process, which runs from February 28 to March 28.

This represents a crucial stage before the adoption of a decision regarding the recognition and conversion of Moldovan driver’s licenses without the need for an additional exam. Thus, both parties have initiated internal procedures to ensure the mutual recognition of driver’s licenses.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will continue to take the necessary actions to finalize the agreement and will inform citizens about the next steps.
