Secretary of State Valeriu Mija in Dialogue with the Partnership for Peace Consortium

July 10, 2025, Chișinău – Secretary of State Valeriu Mija held a working meeting with the Deputy Executive Director of the Partnership for Peace Consortium (PfPC), Olaf Garlich. This academic consortium operates within the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany, and is a structure under the United States Department of Defense.

During the discussions, the current activities of the Partnership for Peace Consortium in the fields of security and defense, as well as in the academic and scientific domains, were presented. The parties also discussed opportunities to strengthen collaboration between the Diplomatic Institute and PfPC, emphasizing the importance of Moldovan diplomats’ participation in PfPC training programs to deepen their knowledge in the field of security.

During the meeting, the Director of the Diplomatic Institute, Eugen Vizir, highlighted the importance of the strategic partnership and outlined potential future areas of cooperation, stressing the value of experience-sharing and best practices in the areas of security and diplomacy.

The parties agreed on the need to deepen cooperation between PfPC, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and institutions from the security and defense sector in the academic field, with the goal of strengthening institutional capacities and promoting the exchange of expertise.
