November 20, 2025, Chișinău – Secretary of State Valeriu Mija today held a meeting with a group of students from the American University, based in Brussels.

During the discussion, the Secretary of State presented to the students the main current topics on the foreign policy agenda of the Republic of Moldova.

Valeriu Mija explained the country’s strategic objectives and the challenges it faces in advancing the European integration process. He emphasized the importance of aligning with European standards in the modernization process, as well as the concrete steps to be undertaken in the near future.

Another topic discussed was the impact of hybrid challenges on the country’s security and stability, including the authorities’ efforts to counter disinformation from external actors.

Valeriu Mija noted that dialogue with students and the academic community represents an important opportunity to explain the national priorities and the European transformation prospects of the Republic of Moldova.

Professor Dr. Jerome W. Sheridan, Director of the Brussels University Center, thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for organizing the meeting and highlighted the value of this experience for students in understanding the mechanisms of the EU accession process, regional security developments, and the measures taken by authorities to address external challenges.
