8 December 2025, Chișinău - State Secretary Carolina Perebinos held today, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a meeting with the Ambassador of Finland to the Republic of Moldova, based in Bucharest, Leena Liukkonen.

The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation, opportunities for collaboration in areas of common interest, energy security, Finland’s support for the Republic of Moldova, as well as the country’s progress in the process of accession to the European Union. The efforts of the Finnish Presidency to strengthen the OSCE and promote the organization’s role in the global security system were also appreciated.

The officials noted the positive momentum of Moldovan-Finnish relations, both in the context of European integration and sectoral cooperation. Carolina Perebinos expressed gratitude for Finland’s support through technical and financial assistance projects aimed at contributing to the modernization and resilience of the Republic of Moldova.

Ambassador Leena Liukkonen reaffirmed Finland’s commitment to supporting the Republic of Moldova in the EU accession process and in strengthening its resilience against hybrid threats.
