August 25, 2025, Chișinău – Today, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, hosted in Chișinău a delegation of foreign ministers from the BENELUX countries – Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and External Trade of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Xavier Bettel; Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium, Maxime Prévot; and the Director General for European Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Heleen Bakker.

 The discussions focused on the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, combating hybrid threats, the organization of the parliamentary elections on September 28, 2025, strengthening institutional resilience, as well as the impact of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine on regional security. Economic cooperation and the interest of investors from the BENELUX countries in the Moldovan market were also addressed.

The visit reconfirms the strong support of the BENELUX countries for the European path of the Republic of Moldova, as well as for the country’s efforts to strengthen the rule of law, security, and resilience.
