In Brussels, Mihai Popșoi Met with Kaja Kallas

July 14, 2025, Brussels – In Brussels, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.

Mihai Popșoi and Kaja Kallas discussed political and security developments in the Republic of Moldova, as well as the assistance provided by the European Union to strengthen the country’s security and resilience, following the High Representative’s visit to Chișinău in April.

In particular, Deputy Prime Minister Mihai Popșoi expressed appreciation for the work of the EU Partnership Mission in Moldova (EUPM) and the EU rapid response teams in countering hybrid threats, including in the areas of cybersecurity and disinformation, as well as the financial support offered through the European Peace Facility (EPF).

“The European Union is a reliable partner for the Republic of Moldova, and our relationship is based on shared values and mutual respect. The EU’s consistent support makes us more resilient. At the same time, the Republic of Moldova is ready to actively contribute to regional and global security and stability,” emphasized Minister Mihai Popșoi.

The High Representative of the European Union, Kaja Kallas, reaffirmed the EU’s commitment to continue supporting the Republic of Moldova in advancing its accession process and in identifying new tools to strengthen cooperation in the fields of security and defense.
