June 16, 2021, Chișinău - Secretary General Eugeniu Revenco discussed with representatives of the International Election Observation Mission from ENEMO about the organization of early parliamentary elections on July 11, 2021 abroad. The interlocutors discussed the state of preparations for the parliamentary elections, in particular with regard to the organization of elections abroad.

Eugeniu Revenco informed the interlocutors about the role of the ministry in this exercise, which, according to the established tasks, will arrange the necessary measures to allow as many Moldovan citizens abroad as possible to exercise their right to vote. In this regard, the Moldovan diplomat also requested the expertise and recommendations of ENEMO on the best practices accumulated during this period, also taking into account the experience of the previous election in November 2020.

During the discussion, the Moldovan official was informed that the Enemo Election Observation Mission will present the Interim Report at the end of June, the preliminary findings on July 12 and the Final report on election monitoring - within two months after the elections were held.

In turn, the deputy head of the ENEMO Observation Mission, Elene Nizharadze, reiterated the need for the Chisinau authorities to ensure alignment with the highest democratic standards, the main purpose of the observation mission being to improve the transparency of the future electoral process, to assess its integrity and compatibility with international standards and domestic legislation, as well as to provide recommendations for potential areas for improvement.

Note: the Central Electoral Commission has accredited as international observers for the early parliamentary elections of July 11, 2021 a number of 13 people from ENEMO. Previously, the ENEMO network observed all elections held in the Republic of Moldova since 2016 (presidential 2016, parliamentary 2019, local 2019, presidential 2020).
