Cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and UNIDO discussed at MFAEI

13 May 2019, Chișinău – Cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), as well as the implementation process of the Country Programming Framework (CPF) of the UNIDO for inclusive and sustainable industrial development in the Republic of Moldova for the period 2019-2023, were discussed at the meeting of the State Secretary, Tatiana Molcean, with the programme coordinator of the UNIDO, Solomiya Omelyan.

 

During the discussions, the officials had an exchange of views regarding the level of cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the priority objectives, as well as the coordinating and monitoring mechanism of the implementation of the CPF.

 

In this context, Tatiana Molcean highly appreciated the assistance offered to our country by the UNIDO, mentioning that “the signing and launching of the Country Programming Framework of the UNIDO in the Republic of Moldova represents an important step towards the strategic planning and the achievement of priority actions for the sustainable and inclusive development of industry in the Republic of Moldova”.

 

In turn, the UNIDO Representative has emphasized the importance of action coordination in the process of implementation of the Country Programming Framework, as well as taking efforts in order to raise the interest of other international partners concerned with the capitalising on the objective of sustainable development of different industry branches in the Republic of Moldova.

 

In this context, we recall that the Country Programming Framework of UNIDO for sustainable and inclusive industrial development in the Republic of Moldova for the period 2019-2023 was developed with the support of this organisation and is based upon the national priorities, being consulted with Moldovan competent authorities in this field, as well as the private sector.
