From 26-28 January 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, will carry out a working visit to Strasbourg.
Minister Mihai Popșoi will participate in the Winter Session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in his capacity as President of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe.
On 28 January, Mihai Popșoi will deliver a speech in the PACE plenary, presenting the traditional communication on behalf of the Committee of Ministers’ Presidency and responding to questions from parliamentarians. The speech will be available to follow here starting at 16:40.
The visit agenda includes meetings with the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Alain Berset, as well as with the new President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe. A bilateral meeting with the Foreign Minister of Armenia is also planned.
Additionally, Minister Mihai Popșoi will participate in the event “Women in Multilateralism”, dedicated to promoting the role of women in multilateral diplomacy, with a focus on combating disinformation and strengthening democratic resilience.
The Winter Session of PACE brings together parliamentarians from all 46 member states of the Council of Europe. It will include debates on threats to the rules-based international order, commitment to a comprehensive, just, and lasting peace for Ukraine, European continental security, and the role of multilateral organizations in defending democratic values.
