From April 23 to 24, 2025, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas, will carry out a working visit to the Republic of Moldova.
This is her first visit to our country in her capacity as a member of the European Commission, a role she assumed on December 1, 2024.
The visit program includes meetings with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi, and other officials. The discussions will focus on current issues related to Moldova’s European path, the support provided by the European Union through the Economic Growth Plan, as well as via the European Peace Facility, which assists Moldova in strengthening institutions in the fields of security and defense.
The senior European official will also engage in dialogue with representatives of civil society and will participate, alongside Foreign Minister Mihai Popșoi, in a meeting with young European ambassadors.
The visit will conclude with a joint press conference held by Kaja Kallas and President Maia Sandu.
