March 11, 2025, Paris – In Paris, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi, alongside Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Dumitru Alaiba and the French Minister Delegate for European Affairs Benjamin Haddad, participated in the opening of the France – Republic of Moldova Business Forum.

During the event, Ministers Mihai Popșoi and Benjamin Haddad signed the Declaration of Intent on implementing the International Volunteer in Companies (V.I.E) program in the Republic of Moldova. This program offers young people from France and the European Economic Area, aged between 18 and 28, the opportunity to undertake professional internships of at least six months in branches of French companies in the Republic of Moldova or within their partners.

“Through this initiative, the Republic of Moldova joins an international network supporting the exchange of skills and business development. The V.I.E program not only facilitates joint projects but also contributes to strengthening bilateral economic relations and attracting talent,” stated Minister Mihai Popșoi.

In his opening speech at the Forum, the head of Moldovan diplomacy emphasized the importance of bilateral economic cooperation and the role of French investments in the development of the Republic of Moldova. “France is an important partner of the Republic of Moldova, and our economic relations have growth potential. French investments will contribute to the modernization of industry and job creation,” declared the official.

Minister Mihai Popșoi reaffirmed the Government of the Republic of Moldova’s commitment to ensuring a stable investment climate despite global challenges and the hybrid threats the country faces.

The France – Republic of Moldova Business Forum reflects the commitment of both states to strengthen cooperation in trade and key sectors such as sustainable development, research, cultural exchanges, and technological innovation.
