March 30, 2025, Chicago – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova announces the official inauguration of the General Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Chicago, United States of America.

The new consular office will provide essential consular services to Moldovan citizens residing in the Midwest region, including identity document processing, notarial services, consular assistance, and other administrative procedures.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by the President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu, as well as U.S. officials, members of the Moldovan community, and representatives of the diplomatic corps.

The opening of this consulate reflects the ongoing commitment of the Moldovan authorities to promptly address the needs of citizens living abroad, strengthen ties with the diaspora, and promote national interests in one of Moldova’s most important partner regions.
