October 21, 2025, Luxembourg – Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi participated in the meeting of foreign ministers on security and interregional connectivity, held in Luxembourg within the framework of the European Union Foreign Affairs Council. The participation took place at the invitation of the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, the European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, and the European Commissioner for International Partnerships, Jozef Síkela.

 Minister Mihai Popșoi made interventions during the two sessions: the one dedicated to security, which brought together countries from the Black Sea region and EU member states, and the one focused on connectivity, which also included countries from Central Asia.

The foreign ministers congratulated the Republic of Moldova for firmly maintaining its European course and reaffirmed the full support of EU member states for advancing its European integration.

“The citizens of the Republic of Moldova have made it clear where they want to see their future and that of their children. No disinformation campaign or cyberattacks from the Kremlin have succeeded in diverting us from our legitimate desire to be part of the European Union. Now we count on the support of member states to move to the next stage – the opening of negotiation clusters,” stated Mihai Popșoi.

During the event, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi held a series of bilateral meetings with his European counterparts, close friends of the Republic of Moldova:

The meetings addressed current topics concerning the Republic of Moldova’s EU accession process, the progress made in implementing reforms, and the priorities for the next stages of accession negotiations.
