17 January 2026, Chișinău - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a ceremony dedicated to Diplomat’s Day, attended by the institution’s leadership, diplomats, and public officials from Moldova’s diplomatic service.

The event began with a presentation of the main achievements of the diplomatic activity in 2025, providing an overview of a year marked by intense work, challenges, and tangible results, both in cooperation with international partners and for the benefit of the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

In his address, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mihai Popșoi emphasized the importance of strengthening institutional capacities, continuing active efforts to attract new partnerships that contribute to the country’s economic development, and enhancing Moldova’s international visibility. He also praised the dedication and professionalism of the entire diplomatic corps:

"Diplomat’s Day is an occasion to congratulate each other and pay tribute to all those who contribute daily to promoting the interests of the Republic of Moldova abroad. Diplomacy is more than a profession-it is a vocation. It relies on the experience and professionalism of career diplomats, as well as on the energy and modern vision of the younger generation. Thanks to the work and dedication of our diplomats, the Republic of Moldova is stronger and more resilient today," stated Mihai Popșoi.

During the ceremony, presidential decrees were announced awarding senior diplomatic ranks of Ambassador and Minister Plenipotentiary, as well as Ministerial orders granting additional diplomatic ranks to diplomats within the central apparatus, diplomatic missions, and consular offices of Moldova.

The honorary title of “Diplomat of the Year 2025” was awarded to the Ambassador of Moldova to France, Corina Călugăru, for her outstanding contribution to promoting the country’s interests abroad and her demonstrated professionalism. Honorary certificates “Diplomat of the Month 2025” were awarded to MFA staff who distinguished themselves through engagement and achievements in various areas of foreign affairs.
