The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova informs that the MFA Crisis Cell is operating on a permanent basis in the context of the security developments in the Middle East. The regional situation remains complex and volatile, with repeated missile and drone attacks, and in certain areas the airspace is closed or affected.

According to information confirmed by the Republic of Moldova’s diplomatic missions, no casualties or injured persons have been recorded among citizens of the Republic of Moldova in the monitored countries.

We recommend that citizens of the Republic of Moldova:

  • remain in safe places;

  • avoid non-essential travel;

  • strictly follow the instructions of the local authorities;

  • continuously check flight status directly with airlines.

State of Israel

  • The security situation remains complex.

  • Citizens of the Republic of Moldova are urged to follow the precautionary measures established by the Israeli authorities and to remain in missile shelters until the official announcement on the end of the alert.

  • Avoid non-essential travel, as the situation may still continue.

  • The airport remains closed. Certain land border crossing points to Egypt and Jordan are operational.

  • The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova has received requests for assistance from Moldovan citizens and has provided consular support and the necessary information to each applicant.

  • Following checks carried out with the competent authorities, no casualties or injured persons have been recorded among citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

State of Qatar

  • The security situation remains difficult, but stable.

  • Airspace remains closed.

  • Shelter-in-place measures are in effect; the population is urged to remain in safe locations, and many institutions operate remotely.

  • Missile attacks are periodically reported and are intercepted by air defence systems.

  • The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova has received requests for assistance from Moldovan citizens. All were provided with the necessary information and consular support.

  • Following checks carried out with the competent authorities, no casualties or injured persons have been recorded among citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

  • The Qatari authorities have not announced general measures regarding coverage of accommodation costs for persons unable to leave the country.

United Arab Emirates

  • The security situation remains tense in the context of missile and drone attacks.

  • UAE airspace remains closed. Several airlines have temporarily suspended operations.

  • The authorities have introduced shelter-in-place measures and recommend that the population remain in safe places.

  • Public institutions, utilities and essential services operate normally.

  • Following checks carried out with the competent authorities, no casualties or injured persons have been recorded among citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

  • The Embassy has received a significant number of requests by phone and e-mail from Moldovan citizens. All were provided with consular assistance, updated information and guidance regarding transit and departure options.

  • The Embassy maintains permanent contact with UAE authorities and with missions of other states to facilitate possible transit solutions.

Republic of Türkiye

  • Türkiye remains a possible regional transit point.

  • Citizens are advised to continuously check flight status before heading to the airport.

  • No incidents involving citizens of the Republic of Moldova have been reported.

Lebanese Republic

  • According to official statements by the authorities, Israeli air strikes took place in the context of rocket launches from southern Lebanon towards northern Israel.

  • Strikes targeted several areas in southern Lebanon, as well as areas near the capital Beirut.

  • Lebanese authorities convened an emergency meeting and stated they are closely monitoring the situation.

  • The situation remains tense and may change rapidly.

  • No requests for assistance have been received from citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

Non-essential travel should be avoided and official information should be closely monitored.

Republic of Azerbaijan (situation in Iran)

  • The security situation in Iran remains extremely volatile, in the context of air strikes on multiple military and government targets.

  • Iranian authorities have imposed heightened security measures, including shelter-in-place recommendations and limiting movement.

  • Communication restrictions and temporary internet disruptions are possible.

  • The Azerbaijan–Iran land border remains closed for regular passenger traffic.

  • Emergency exits via Azerbaijan are possible only through prior institutional coordination.

  • Citizens of the Republic of Moldova currently in Iran are urged to avoid travel between provinces, shelter in safe places and avoid proximity to government and military facilities.

  • For any potential land evacuation via Azerbaijan, prior contact with the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova is required in order to obtain authorisation from the Azerbaijani authorities.

  • Flights in the region are affected; air evacuations are possible only if approved corridors are available.

  • Following checks carried out, no casualties have been recorded among citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
