April 4, 2019, Bern – The positive development of Moldova-Switzerland dialogue regarding the bilateral and multilateral dimension, the possibility of increasing reports in cultural in educational fields, as well as the interest for signing a bilateral agreement for social security were debated by the secretaries of states Tatiana Molcean, Krystyna Marty Lang and the ambassador Nicolas Brühl, Head of Europe, Central Asia, Council of Europe and OSCE, during the Moldova-Switzerland political discussion held at the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland.
During the discussion, the officials highlighted the perspective of developing a bilateral dialogue in political, economic and sectorial terms, underlining in particular the economic - trade field, and exchanging opinions regarding the methods to extend cooperation with the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO). Furthermore, Krystyna Marty Lang pointed out the availability of Switzerland to develop projects and common economic events with the Republic of Moldova, stressing once more the support for signing an Agreement of Free Trade with EFTA states.
Appreciating the good cooperation with the Swiss Cooperation Office in Chisinau (SDC), the State Secretary Tatiana Molcean thanked for the significant support of the Swiss Confederation regarding the healthcare sector, especially providing access to good health service concerning paediatric emergency situations, health services for young people as well as in education – dual technical education, the curricula for social studies and self-development. At the same time, the programs regarding the capitalization of the diaspora potential, environment protection and regional development were also praised.
Moreover, during the political discussion, it was signed the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and Switzerland’s Federal Council concerning scheduled air services. The document settles the legal framework for cooperation in the field of air transport between the two states, determining the operation principle of air services, including aviation security norms, charges and certificates of airworthiness and competence.
Additionally, Tatiana Molcean underlined the interest of the Republic of Moldova to conclude an agreement with the Swiss Confederation regarding social security, parts agreeing over the diversity of bilateral legal basis as a possibility to provide new aspects for Moldova-Switzerland partnership.
