Moldovan-Lithuanian Intergovernmental Agreement of conversion and mutual recognition of driving licenses was signed in Vilnius

October 7, 2021, Vilnius – Following the agreements reached at a high level during the visits to Chișinău of lithuanian president Gitanas Nausėda and foreign minister Gabrielius Landsbergis, the Moldovan-Lithuanian Intergovernmental Agreement on the conversion and mutual recognition of driving licenses was signed today by the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Veaceslav Dobîndă and the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Lithuania, Agnė Bilotaitė.

„The provisions of the agreement will offer to Moldovan citizens permanently or temporarily settled in the Republic of Lithuania a number of benefits, such as exemption from tuition and additional examination in converting driving licenses and related expenses, free movement in international traffic, including by facilitating working contracts.” - Secretary of State Veaceslav Dobîndă declared during the signing ceremony.

The visit of the Moldovan diplomat to Vilnius takes place at the invitation of the Chancellor of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Inga Černiuk.

The program at the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also included consultations with Secretary of State Mantas Adomėnas, Political Director-General, Heads of sectoral subdivisions in order to strengthen functional competencies and exchange of expertise in areas of mutual interest.

Also the officials discussed the reform agenda on the implementation of the Association Agreement and the free trade area, the Eastern Partnership Summit, bilateral political consultations, and development assistance.
