April 9, 2025, Chișinău – The Secretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Carolina Perebinos, and the Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Marek Prawda, led a new round of interministerial political consultations.
The delegations of both ministries reviewed the bilateral cooperation agenda, the European integration process of the Republic of Moldova, the regional security context, the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, the strengthening of Moldova’s resilience, as well as cooperation within international organizations. The advanced level of political dialogue and sectoral cooperation was appreciated, and the traditionally friendly character of Moldovan-Polish relations was noted.
In the context of Poland holding the rotating presidency of the EU Council in the first half of 2025, progress made by Moldova in its EU accession process was examined. The Polish official reiterated firm support and commitment from Poland for Moldova’s European path. Additionally, Undersecretary Marek Prawda expressed his country’s readiness to continue providing development assistance.
The parties exchanged views on regional security, particularly in the context of the Russian Federation’s aggressive war against Ukraine and its negative impact on Moldova. Discussions also covered the increasing hybrid threats, especially propaganda and disinformation campaigns.
Separately, ongoing efforts by Moldovan authorities toward a peaceful resolution of the Transnistrian conflict were addressed.
Regarding bilateral cooperation, the positive dynamics of trade exchanges were also mentioned. The parties reaffirmed their commitment to develop and deepen economic and investment relations, including through the organization, during the current year, of the regular meeting of the Moldovan-Polish intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation. Secretary of State Carolina Perebinos appreciated Poland’s important role in the modernization process of Moldova through assistance projects in various fields.
