Moldovan-Slovak Cooperation Discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

18 December 2025, Chișinău - State Secretary Carolina Perebinos received today at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to the Republic of Moldova, Pavol Ivan.

The State Secretary welcomed the strong level of bilateral cooperation between the Republic of Moldova and the Slovak Republic across various fields and expressed gratitude for Slovakia’s support in Moldova’s European Union accession process, as well as for the development assistance provided.

The discussions addressed the strengthening of high-level political dialogue, the expansion of interparliamentary cooperation, and the organization of the next round of interministerial political consultations at the level of state secretaries.

The parties also explored ways to intensify economic relations, including through the organization of the second session of the Joint Consultative Commission for Economic Cooperation, scheduled to take place in the Republic of Moldova in 2026.

Ambassador Pavol Ivan emphasized that the Republic of Moldova remains a priority under Slovakia’s new Development Assistance Strategy, highlighting projects implemented in 2025 in the areas of agriculture, forestry, energy efficiency, environment, and good governance. In addition, the sides discussed issues related to mutual support within international organizations and the expansion of the bilateral legal framework.
