The new Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova in Italy presented his credentials

July 7, 2020, Rome - The Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Italian Republic, Anatolie Urecheanu, presented yesterday his credentials to the President of the Italian Republic, Sergio Mattarella, during an official ceremony that took place at the Quirinale Palace in Rome.

The handing of the letters was followed by a private audience, during which an exchange of views on the Moldo-Italian dialogue took place, as well as the latest developments on a regional level.

Ambassador Urecheanu referred to the priorities of his mandate, emphasizing the importance of further deepening good cooperation between the two states in various fields, including the dimension of European integration of the Republic of Moldova, supporting efforts to resolve the Transnistrian conflict, boosting trade and economic exchanges. The protection of citizens' rights and close cooperation with the large Moldovan community in Italy represents a strong link between our countries and is also a permanent concern of the activity of the diplomatic mission.

President Sergio Mattarella congratulated the new Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova, wishing him success in his mission and assuring him of the full support of the Italian authorities in the exercise of his mandate.
