The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova has issued a travel alert for the Russian Federation due to multiple cases of Moldovan citizens being subjected to harassment, intimidation, or abusive treatment on the territory of this country. This behavior reflects a systematic policy by the Russian authorities against the citizens of the Republic of Moldova, and similar reports have appeared in the public domain previously.

Statements by Russian authorities claiming that Moldovan citizens are affiliated with special services are unfounded and speculative.

The Ministry is carefully analyzing several such cases. The Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Moscow has requested consular access to multiple detained Moldovan citizens; however, the Russian side has refused these requests. All necessary diplomatic efforts are currently underway to provide the required consular assistance to the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
