May 27, 2025, Jerusalem – During his working visit to the State of Israel, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Moldova, Mihai Popșoi, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Gideon Sa’ar. The discussions focused on strengthening Moldovan-Israeli bilateral relations in the political, economic, legal, and humanitarian sectors, as well as deepening cooperation at the multilateral level.
The foreign ministers agreed to take joint actions to elevate bilateral relations to the level of a strategic partnership, based on trust and mutually beneficial cooperation.
Another topic of discussion was the revitalization of the activities of the Moldovan-Israeli Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Commercial Cooperation, with the aim of stimulating reciprocal investments and joint projects in key sectors such as technology, agriculture, healthcare, and education.
The officials also addressed the expansion of the bilateral legal framework, through the signing of an Agreement on Legal Cooperation in Civil and Commercial Matters, which will facilitate cooperation between the courts of the two states.
Additionally, the security situation in the region, developments regarding the Republic of Moldova’s European integration process, and issues related to the protection of the rights of Moldovan citizens in Israel were also discussed.
