The Republic of Moldova is closely monitoring with concern the severe escalation of tensions in the Middle East, caused by the deteriorating security situation amid military confrontations between Israel and Iran. The recent developments risk seriously affecting regional stability and international security.

We join the international community's calls for an immediate de-escalation of tensions and urge all parties involved to exercise maximum restraint and engage in a constructive dialogue aimed at a diplomatic resolution of the disputes.

The safety of our citizens in the region remains a priority for the authorities of the Republic of Moldova, who continue to closely monitor the situation and coordinate the necessary measures to protect them.

At the same time, we support international diplomatic efforts to relaunch the negotiation process regarding Iran's nuclear program, in accordance with the commitments made under the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPoA), as essential pillars of the global non-proliferation regime for weapons of mass destruction within the international arms control framework.
