The Republic of Moldova is following with deep concern the escalation of tensions between Israel and Iran and emphasizes the urgent need for immediate de-escalation in the interest of maintaining regional and global security.

We express deep regret over the attacks on civilian and medical infrastructure in Israel—actions that severely deteriorate or significantly worsen the situation and endanger innocent lives. Such incidents further underscore the importance of avoiding violence and protecting the civilian population, in strict accordance with international humanitarian law.

At the same time, the Republic of Moldova expresses concern over Iran’s violations of its nuclear obligations, as reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and reaffirms the importance of the nuclear non-proliferation regime as a key element for maintaining peace and stability in the region. In this context, we support the legitimate right of the State of Israel to defend its population and ensure its security.
