11 November 2025, Chișinău – State Secretary Sergiu Mihov held a courtesy meeting with Dong Zhihua, the designated Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Moldova, following the presentation of copies of her letters of credence to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The two officials reviewed the current state of Moldovan–Chinese relations, based on principles of mutual respect and common benefit, and discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral cooperation. During the discussions, significant opportunities for collaboration were highlighted in areas such as trade, agriculture, medicine, education, culture, modern technologies, as well as within international organizations.

State Secretary Sergiu Mihov congratulated Ambassador Dong Zhihua on the beginning of her mandate in the Republic of Moldova and wished her success in her activities. He also confirmed the Moldovan authorities’ readiness to support the deepening of the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation with the People’s Republic of China.
