Videoconference of Minister Oleg Țulea with his Finnish counterpart

June 8, 2020, Chișinău - Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Oleg Țulea, had a videoconference today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, Pekka Haavisto.

The interlocutors addressed current issues on the agenda of Moldo-Finnish relations, expressing the common interest and will to strengthen political dialogue, expand sectoral cooperation and boost trade and economic exchanges between the two countries.

The European integration of the Republic of Moldova and the cooperation within the Eastern Partnership was another topic of discussion. Minister Oleg Țulea briefed his Finnish counterpart on the actions taken and the progress made by the Moldovan authorities in fulfilling the commitments under the Association Agreement. Minister Pekka Haavisto reiterated Finland's support for Moldova's European path, noting that his country will continue to provide expertise and assistance in implementing the reform agenda and European integration goals.

At the same time, referring to the development assistance provided to the Republic of Moldova by Finland, Minister Oleg Țulea mentioned that Finland is an important partner for our country and thanked the Finnish government for the projects implemented in the Republic of Moldova, in the field of democracy, respect for human rights, assistance for people with disabilities, freedom of the press and vocational education.
