In accordance with the new amendments to Law no. 253 of 10.07.2025 regarding the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova and Government Decision no. 804 of 23.12.2025, for the approval of the Regulation on the procedure for acquiring and losing the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova, applicants for obtaining the citizenship of the Republic of Moldova with legal residence in the Republic of Moldova (permanent or temporary residence permit holders) apply in person to the Public Services Agency or to one of its subdivisions, or in the case of the person domiciled abroad, the citizenship file is submitted in person to the Diplomatic Mission or at the consular office of the Republic of Moldova in the country of residence or at the nearest Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Moldova.
