Charges d'affaires assignment can be permanent or temporary (standing and ad interim)

Charges d'affaires standing (in title) is accredited by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova. It is considered that the commissioner with standing Charges d'affaires assumed his functions after presenting to the management of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration a cabinet letter signed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the country he represents.

Charges d'affaires ad interim replaces the head of the diplomatic representation during his absence from the state of accreditation. The name of the person in charge of interim affairs will be notified to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration by the Head of Mission, and if this is not possible, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the accrediting state.

The person in charge of interim business cannot notify the appointment of another diplomat within the mission as Intermediate person in charge of business.
