Accreditation procedure

The diplomatic mission, the consular office and the Representations of International Organizations shall notify the State Diplomatic Protocol without delay, within a maximum of 5 working days, about the name of the person arrived at the post, as well as the name of the person who will replace him.

The verbal note must be accompanied by:

  • the printed form completed for each person separately, stamped and signed by the head of the mission;
  • 1 photo for each person;
  • legible copy of valid passport;
  • for the family members a copy of the document attesting the degree of kinship (eg the birth certificate; a copy of the marriage certificate; others) will be presented;
  • for the diplomatic agents accredited by the cumulation, a copy of the accreditation card from the state of residence is requested.

NB: The State Diplomatic Protocol reserves the right to request other documents.

Requirements for photos

Photos must be:

  • Color;
  • Printed on photo quality paper;
  • 30mm x 40mm in size;
  • Made within six months until the date of the accreditation request;
  • Made on a white background (without seeing shadows);
  • Faced towards the camera (teeth should not be visible);
  • With a neutral face expression, both eyes open.

Subjects should not:

  • To wear hats or other things that cover the head, only if they are worn daily for religious purposes (the face must be seen in full, without shadows);
  • To wear headphones or wireless devices or something similar;
  • Wear glasses with colored lenses.

Photos will be rejected if:

  • do not meet the above requirements;
  • they are colored copies;
  • are digitally scanned from another document;
  • they are instantaneous, of poor quality or are photos from the mobile phone or photos of the whole body.

It is recommended that all passport photographs be taken by professional photography services. 

The acceptance of the photographs is at the discretion of the State Diplomatic Protocol.

The period of processing and issuing the accreditation card is up to 15 working days. If the incomplete file is presented, it will be returned.

In the case of Diplomatic Missions based in other countries, the accreditation cards are issued only to the following diplomatic agents: the head of the diplomatic mission, the special attache accredited in the Republic of Moldova, the persons in charge of the consular and bilateral files with the Republic of Moldova, with the appropriate mentions in the completed form.
