The Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to the Republic of Moldova, with residence in Moscow, Patricio Zavala, presented his credentials on May 8^th, 2012. On October 30^th, 2012, Ambassador Patricio Zavala undertook a working visit to Chișinău.

Bilateral legal framework

• Protocol on the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Ecuador (New York, 08.11.2011).
• Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the Republic of Ecuador on visa exemption for their citizens (Chisinau, 30.10.2012).

Trade and economic relations

According to the National Bureau of Statistics data, the volume of foreign trade of the Republic of Moldova with the Republic of Ecuador in 2021 registered the amount of USD 22,21 mln. Exports amounted to USD 56,25 thousand. Imports amounted to USD 22,15 mln. (These data do not reflect export and import operations of enterprises and economic agents from the left bank of the Nistru river and Bender municipality.)
