19th of march 2024, Chișinău - The diplomat was protested against for organizing the presidential elections of the Russian Federation in the territory of the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova, contrary to the position of the Moldovan authorities.

In this context, the ambassador was handed a note of protest stating that a member of the embassy staff has been declared persona non grata in the territory of the Republic of Moldova and must leave the country.
